Tanner Biles, Next Gen Pastor
What would your life look like if you did all the Lord asked of you?
As we have been going through this Genesis series and as I look at many of the characters throughout the Old Testament, I am challenged and encouraged by their faith in the Lord.
When asked to build an ark, Scripture says, “Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him” (Genesis 6:22). When asked to gather all the animals, Scripture says, “And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him” (Genesis 7:5). These are two huge and seemingly impossible tasks. And my first thought or question would be, “How, Lord? How am I supposed to do what you are asking of me?”.
Sometimes, we need to focus more on the how. When we focus on “how,” we focus on our power and capability. But responding with an obedient heart forces us to rely on the power of the One who is capable of anything (Ephesians 3:20).
You see, God is just asking us to obey what He calls us to do and trust Him with the how. When God calls us to something, He will provide the means.
What is God calling you to do? Will you respond with an obedient heart?
